    “The Sun is Shining: Sissieretta Jones” A One-Woman Play

    “The Sun is Shining: Sissieretta Jones” A One-Woman Play by Rhode Island playwright Tom Maguire, explores the life and music of this gifted Black opera diva from Providence. During a 28 year international career, Jones broke racial barriers, sang for four US presidents, starred in a touring show, and was the highest pain African American performer. Local actress Becky Bass stars in this one-woman show directed by Robb Dimmick.
